This major freight rail infrastructure project involved the design and construction of a critical section of a nationally significant rail corridor in regional New South Wales. The scope comprised approximately 40 kilometres of new and upgraded freight rail works, including the construction of multiple bridges and level crossings, numerous culverts, and a new crossing loop to support increased freight capacity and operational efficiency.
Delivered as part of a broader end-to-end rail delivery program, the project was executed within a live rail environment. This required careful coordination of construction staging, possession planning, and interface management to align civil works with rail systems and operational readiness milestones.
CSPM Role
CSPM Consulting provided specialist planning and project controls support the delivery phase of the project, supporting a tier-one contractor responsible for design and construction activities.
Our role focused on the development, integration, and ongoing management of the master program, ensuring alignment across civil works, rail interfaces, construction sequencing, and commissioning requirements. CSPM delivered Primavera P6 schedule management, critical path analysis, interface coordination, and structured reporting to provide clear visibility of progress, constraints, and time-related risk.
Through disciplined schedule governance and proactive planning, CSPM supported delivery certainty and informed decision-making within a complex, safety-critical freight rail environment.
